| A) Insurance rates on Twin Turbos are pretty high. B) Finding a local mechanic who's worth his salt working on our cars is sometimes impossible.. Not everyone has the time/ability to do mechanical work themselves. C) Aftermarket proformance parts are more available, but OEM parts are steadily goign out of production. It's really not best suited for a daily driver. A daily driver should be comfortable, reliable, and most of all, Disposable. If it gets screwed up, so be it.
The Z is: 1) A Gas Hog. Not so fun with current and likely more expensive yearly gas prices..(I paid 3.01 for 93 Octane yesterday, yeesh!) 2) Do you really want to spend 15k lovingly restoring your Z only for some asshole at the supermarket to ram his shoppping cart into it? Get rear ended in morning traffic? Wear out expensive and hard to replace parts in daily driving? But, I love the car. Maybe I'm just too protective. Besides, it's too hard to try to detail, restore her if i'm out inflicting more damage by DD...
For now, my Z sits happily in the garage.
